15. Howard's Gulch Map

Habitat: Howard's Gulch includes a low elevation meadow system surrounded by conifer, juniper/sage, and aspen stands. The area sits in a canyon, which rises to rock scarps at the top. The Forest is in the process of developing an accessible driving tour on the spur road that parallels Highway 139.

Birds: White-headed Woodpecker, California Thrasher, Wild Turkeys (download bird calls)

Directions: From Canby travel 5.9 miles N. on Hwy 139. Turn W (L) off Hwy at tent sign onto FS 42N14 and follow 0.2 mi to campground.
